Description
Bichi is the brainchild of Noel and Jair Tllez, their mother Ana Montano, and a team of passionate collaborators whose passion is highlighting the unique terroirs of Baja via non-irrigated, head-pruned, and organically farmed vineyards. The name Bichi means naked in the familys native Sonoran dialect, which pays homage to the raw and honest nature of the wines they produce. Their 10 hectares of Tecate vines are farmed biodynamically and a minimalist mentality is used in the cellar. Fruit for No Sapiens red comes from a dry-farmed, 70-year-old vineyard dedicated to an unidentified variety. This organic and energetic red is native yeast fermented and vinified in concrete amphorae, leading to a fresh and easy-drinking wine marked by flavors of juicy red fruit, citrus, fresh cut herbs, and white pepper. A true #PorchPounder!
