Description
Situated in the heart of western Sonoma, Peay Vineyards is comprised of 20 hectares of mostly Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay, with a handful of Rhone white varieties smattered in. The winery was first established in 1996 by Nick Peay and Vanessa Wong, the latter of whom worked various winemaking gigs for Chteau Lafite-Rothschild, Domaine Michel Gros, and Hirsch Winery. All vineyards are certified organic and the winery is operated by bio-diesel and solar power. Their Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is silky and balanced, marked by notes of stone fruit, lemon rind, wet stones, and salty sea air. A lively finish and bright acidity make this wine insanely food-friendly on the table. Pair with chicken, risotto, or creamy pasta dishes.
